Michael Jonathan Smith was born and raised on the East Coast (specifically West Hartford Connecticut) and moved to Los Angeles for both his love of television and fear of hurricanes. He has written for FX's CHOZEN, and developed an indie-folk kung-fu musical for Disney Television Animation and a comedy about thirty-somethings in a ritualistic blood cult for Benderspink and Universal Cable Productions. He currently has a pilot in development with Sony Pictures Television.
In his spare time, he writes for Screenjunkies and The Warp Zone, and creates webseries with his friends, one of which was a finalist in the Comedy Central Short Pilot competition and was featured on The Onion's AV Club. Michael also worked for Cirque du Soleil one summer, which completely killed any interest he had in running away with the circus. He lives with his internet famous wife Nan Lawson, and their two dumbass cats.
His beard is nice.
